The Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is seeking for a postdoc, who will work on development and evaluation of innovative treatment processes for removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water.
The specific objectives are to i) evaluate alternative innovative pretreatment processes, ii) assess innovative treatment trains to meet new strict drinking water regulations, and iii) use alternative methods to treat contaminated process water for safe release or reuse. The tasks will also include sampling, extraction of environmental samples, processing of large data sets, data analysis, statistical evaluation and writing of peer-reviewed scientific publications. The treatment train will include nanofiltration, foam fractionation, electrochemical oxidation, anion exchange and biofilters. The research is carried out in collaboration with drinking water producers as well as engineers and toxicologists.
