The research group Decision Analysis at Eawag is looking for a student assistant to support the group, and specifically the project “Model Validation and Evaluation procedures for integrated NBS-PSS” (MOVE-NBS). This work is remunerated on an hourly basis, and there is some flexibility to adapt working hours and workload.

The student assistant will be supporting general work of the decision analysis group, and specifi-cally for a literature review about environmental decisions using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis ( MCDA), and in MOVE-NBS. The project is supervised by Dr. Judit Lienert (group leader), and Dr. Martijn Kuller (Postdoc).

I. Responsibilities

  • Literature research in scientific databases, classification and meta-analysis of literature
  • Managing surveys or interviews with stakeholders and experts (English, German)
  • Data processing: data entry, statistical analysis, and data visualization (Excel and/or R)
  • Writing internal reports of the results
  • Possibly assist the preparation of workshops and produce workshop materials
  • General administrative support (e.g., writing protocols, preparing material for online tools)

II. Eligibility

  • The prospective candidate for this position is a bachelor student in a Social Science discipline or in Environmental Sciences.
  • Other disciplines and a Bachelor or Master degree will be considered only if the skill set matches.
  • The position requires good experience with Excel and basic statistical skills, and if possible experience with online surveys, literature research, and data analysis and visualization in R.
  • A reliable, exact working style is expected.
  • Fluent oral and written English is required, German, French, and experience with urban planning and decision analysis are a plus.
